Jefferson’s life had a very rough start. He was only three weeks old when his spinal cord was severed as the result a door accidentally shutting on him. His human at the time took him to the humans with white coats and the diagnosis was grim. His rear legs were paralyzed, and there was no guarantee that he would regain the use of them. Because his human couldn’t afford the treatment and devote the attention needed to help Jefferson hopefully recover, she relinquished him to Tenth Life.
And Tenth Life put the human who was best suited to help Jefferson on the case. My good furiend Lincoln‘s human helped him along the path from completely paralyzed kitten to fully mobile and playful cat. So when Jefferson went to this wonderful human, all of us held out hope for a complete recovery.
Unfortunately, it was not to be. Jefferson got sick, and had to be taken to an emergency clinic, where he entered their intensive care unit. He seemed to being doing better, as he started eating on his own. But he did not continue on the path to recovery. On Monday night, his body failed him.
During Jefferson’s short life, he was treated with so much love. From his first human to the humans at Tenth Life who tried so hard to help him recover and who are heartbroken at losing him to humans like you who cared about a tiny little paralyzed kitten, he received all the love any cat could ever want.
Jefferson is no longer with us, but you can donate in his name so that Tenth Life can help other cats like him who nobody else will help. Please help if you can and share this so that as many people as possible can help.
