I have shared updates with you on what is happening with my fellow special needs cat Freida. She has been to the humans in white coats many times and they are still unsure about what is going on with her.
The latest trip for Freida was to a clinic called Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. This is a place where many white coated humans work together in order to try to figure out how best to help felines and canines.
When Freida visited this place, the white coated humans went over her entire medical record, which is very extensive! They think that there may be some genetic challenges with Freida, but they do not think that what she is going through is due to a bacterial infection.
The white coated humans also said that my fellow special needs cat is doing well considering the battles she has been through. She had blood work done, and they found that she was anemic but that is a condition she has always battled. Her white blood cell count is now normal, which is good. Other results of the test indicate that she is dealing with inflammation.
Freida also has a heart murmur and an enlarged heart. That means that the humans in white coats will have to do an ultrasound to determine whether her heart is in good enough shape to deal with potential surgeries.
These are not fun times for Freida or her human. Her human is doing everything they cat to make sure she heals. One concern they brought up with the white coated humans is making sure that Freida does not suffer unnecessarily. The white coated human said that Freida is not at that point, and so they will continue to try to help my fellow special needs cat.
I am hopeful that Freida will continue to show humans everywhere that special needs cats may require additional attention, but they are loving and playful felines.
