Why Was the Human Mad When I Did This Last Night?

May 14 Blood Sugar Readings

Hello, kind humans. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings for the week. Before I do that, I will tell you about how I made the human very annoyed with me last night.

It was very early in the morning, and I went and finished the rest of the noms the human put out for us. Then I decided to hop on the bed to sleep next to the human, just like I always do. The human does not even notice it when I do this. When the talking box starts to talk, he will wake up and see Koji on one side of him and me on the other.

But last night, I woke him up when I landed on the bed. Not because I landed hard on the bed, but because there was an air bubble in the noms that I had consumed. And that meant I vomited them right back up!

The human did not like this. He got very exasperated by me vomiting on the bed and waking him up. I told him I was sorry by purring and kneading but he was still not happy. It is okay, though. I do not blame the human for being annoyed. He had to clean up the mess when all he wanted to do was sleep.

Speaking of sleeping, I have been sleeping pretty well because my blood sugar levels are better managed. For the week, my blood sugar levels averaged 176. That is slightly lower than the 195 we saw last week, and it is at a level that we consider well controlled.

The only real concern the human has is that some of the readings we saw were very low. We do not want my blood sugar readings to drop to a point where I am hypoglycemic. That can be very dangerous.

I will let you know about my blood sugar readings next week. Hopefully, there will not be any that are too low!

Bagheera (1282 Posts)

Bagheera is a wonderful and loving cat who started off his life on the wrong foot. Literally. He is a polydactyl and since breed standard for bengals does not allow polydactylism, he was given to an animal rescue group. His human had just lost a dear feline friend, but he was fascinated by both the bengal breed and the polydactylism. So he flew up to see Bagheera, and fell in love. He took Bagheera home the same day and Bagheera didn't even let out a peep when he went on a noisy loud small airplane. Several years later, Bagheera had to endure another plane ride, but this time, it was on a big airplane. He moved with his human to San Diego. And he was all set to enjoy a life of soaking up the southern California sun but then something else got in the way. Bagheera was diagnosed with diabetes. This meant that he would have to overcome one more challenge. His diabetes is being treated with insulin and a low carb diet. He has gained back all the weight he lost and is the same active, happy, rambunctious cat that he was before his diagnosis. But he wants to help raise awareness of feline diabetes. He wants humans everywhere to realize that while diabetic cats require a little extra care and they cost more to keep healthy, they are loving and playful companions for the right humans!
