Good News for Two Michigan Cat Rescue Cats

Furiends, the thing that that every rescue cat wants more than anything else is a permanent home.

And recently, my good furiends at Michigan Cat Rescue were able to help two felines find furever homes.

Michigan Cat Rescue's Gretchen Has a Home! You will remember that I shared with you the story of Gretchen, who Michigan Cat Rescue pulled from a high kill shelter.  She landed awkwardly and injured her leg.  Fortunately, she only sprained her knee and she did not fracture her leg like the kind humans at Michigan Cat Rescue feared.

Gretchen got some even better news recently.  She found a furever home with a family that loves her very much.  That is one happy family of two legged and four legged creatures!

I do not get to share all of the stories of felines that Michigan Cat Rescue is taking care of.  But believe me, theyA Michigan Cat Rescue Cat, Mr. Fritters, Is Going Home take care of many cats.  Another feline they rescued from a high kill shelter is a good looking orange and white tabby named Mr. Fritters.

This feline was in a foster home for more than a year, but he finally got the word that he was going to his furever home.

The wonderful humans at Michigan Cat Rescue have another feline who would like to get the news that she is going to a furever home as well.  Her name is Anna-Bella.  Her death sentence was commuted when Michigan Cat Rescue pulled her from a high kill shelter.

Can we help Michigan Cat Rescue Find a Home for Anna-Bella?Since then, this eight month old girl has been spayed, received her shots and tests show that she does not have FIV or FeLV.  Anna-Bella also gets along well with other felines, so you will not have the drama that my human is dealing with when it comes to Marley.

You will need to live near Michigan Cat Rescue, because they do not ship.  But if you do, and you have room in your home for Anna-Bella, please contact them.  If you cannot take her in, please share her story.

Be a Shelter Pet’s Santa, Find Them a Home

The holiday season is among us, and this means that many of you humans will be giving gifts to your loved ones.  It is a happy time for humans.  For felines like me, Jacey, and Marley, it is a fun time for us to spend with our humans.

The Shelter Pet Project Hopes to Find Pets Furever Homes This Holiday SeasonSadly, there are too many of my fellow felines who do not have furever homes like we do.  These felines are shelter pets, and all they want this holiday season is a home they can call their own.  And the Shelter Pet Project is working very hard this holiday season to make that happen.

You kind humans can help them do this by participating in their Secret Santa project.  And it’s easy to participate.

  • Go to the Shelter Pet Project’s photo album, and choose a rescue group in your area.  If no rescue groups are listed for your area, you can choose anyone you want.
  • Find a shelter pet from the rescue group that you want to help.  Post the pet’s name in the comments for the picture of the rescue group you chose.
  • You’ll find the directions on how to share the information for the pet you are seeking to find a home for in the Facebook photo.
  • Spread the word Please Participate in the Shelter Pet Project's Secret Santa

Let’s try to find as many shelter pets as we can a furever home.  I think of poor Marley, being kept in a small cage at the PetSmart and know she is very happy that our human saw her, couldn’t stand to see her in the cage, and brought her home.

There are many shelter pets who have been in that situation for longer, and all they want is a furever home.  Let’s see how many shelter pets we can find a home for.  This will make for a very happy holiday season for both animals and humans!

A Stunning Black Cat Has Two Weeks to Live

Two weeks.  That is all the time a very handsome black cat has to live.  This is very disappointing to me.  His human has taken care of this cat for five years.  In March, this boy with stunning eyes was diagnosed as a fellow diabetic cat.

Help find my fellow diabetic cat Mister a new homeMister is this cat’s name, and his human is moving.  If a home is not found for Mister before he moves, his human will have him euthanized.  He is very affectionate and loving, and gets along well with other felines.  Mister has lived with a female cat for most of his life.  Humans leave many things behind when they move.  In the case of Mister, a diabetic cat is one of the things that is on the list of things his human will leave behind.

Just like with me, Mister’s diabetes is being treated with insulin and a low carb diet.  I do not know if his condition is under good control or not, but that is not important.  What is important is that Mister deserves a chance to live a long and happy life with a human who will not look at him as a disposable thing to be tossed away.  Diabetic cats present challenges to their humans, but that does not mean we should be euthanized when we have lots of living and loving left to do!

I am sure you agree with me when I say that two insulin shots, a diet change, and a few ear sticks a day are not too much for a human to deal with.  My human does.  We need to find Mister a human who will do the same.

Can you help Mister find a new home?  Bagheera’s buddies have helped many cats.  Can we find a way to help Mister?

If you think you can help, please get in touch with the human who is trying to find Mister a home.
