July 9 Blood Sugar Readings

Hello, kind humans. Did you have a good weekend? It was a hot one for us here, and that meant that Jacey, Koji, and I were not able to go on the balcony to work on our fur tans. Jacey is getting to spend time outside, although she does not like it. You see, furiends, she commutes between here and The Cat Cafe now.

During the day, she spends her time there showing humans who do not know about us bengal cats how fun we are. And at night, she comes home. She does not like the commute, and complains to the human the whole time. But once she arrives at her destination, she is a happy cat.

It is nice to see my sisfur, even if she spends all of her time in the bathroom. She is starting to tolerate Koji being in there with her more and more. And Koji is learning that he cannot bother her. He will go in there and meow loudly, trying to talk to her. She does not mind, unless he gets too close. If he does that, the human goes in, tells Koji to leave, and that is what Koji does.

And do you know what is the best part of it for me? As soon as Koji leaves, the human pets Jacey and she starts to meow happily and sometimes even purr!

Now, on to my blood sugar readings, furiends. For the week, my blood sugar readings averaged 175. This is much better than the 229 we saw last week. I think it is because I have been getting two insulin shots for about two weeks now, and that the higher levels we saw came from when the human was away. I only got one insulin shot a day instead of two when that happened.

Hopefully, this is a sign of where my blood sugar levels will be moving forward. I will let you know if that’s the case next week!

March 19 Blood Sugar Readings

Hello, furiends. I will tell you about my blood sugar readings in a moment. Before I do that, I will tell you about how Koji drove the human crazy this morning.

The human had to go downstairs to get new blood sugar test strips. When he came back with that package and some other things in his hands, Koji decided to run out the door. Usually, Koji will run down the hall and stop, and wait for the human to come and pick him up. But today, Koji really wanted to play.

He ran down the hall and stopped, but then when the human came to him, he ran away again. He did this twice more, and the second time he stopped, he stopped at another apartment with the door slightly open and started to sniff inside there. The human did not like this and ran after Koji and told him to stop. Koji decided this would be a chance to run the other way.

It was quite amusing for me to see the human so annoyed and Koji so happy. Koji told me about it, and we both laughed.

Now on to more serious things. For the week, my blood sugar readings averaged 195. That is much better than the 236 we saw last week, and it is way below the level where problems will occur. I am glad that we were able to get those glucose readings down. Hopefully this is an indicator that we are back on our way to managing my blood sugar levels well.

I am glad to have a human who will work as hard as he needs to so that my blood sugar levels are well managed. After learning about so many humans who give up their cats for silly reasons, it makes me feel better to know I have one who will take care of me like he should!

Koji is Being a Silly Feline

Hello, furiends. It has been a while since my brofur Koji has been silly enough for me to tell you about his silly antics. Well, over the past few days, he has been a real goofball. I will tell you some of the things he as done so you can laugh.

First, Koji seems to have decided that the human’s stomach is a good landing spot. It does not matter where Koji is jumping from. It can be the top of the dresser, the half wall that separates the bedroom from the kitchen and the hallway, or the floor. Koji likes to hop on the human’s stomach.

Now, Koji is a 13 pound cat and he is solid muscle. So when he does this, the human does not like it. But Koji shows he is just playing and head bonks and licks the human. Then he starts to purr and the human forgives him.

Koji has also started sitting on top of the half wall so that he can ambush me when I walk by. He will pounce right on me, and then we wrestle. Sometimes I yell at Koji for doing this, and the human comes running over to separate us. He is always surprised when we give him a “what do you want, human” look.

And the most funny thing Koji did happened last night. A while ago, Koji escaped out the front door. When the human brought him back, a canine decided to charge at the human and Koji, barking and growling. Koji did not like this, and he jumped out of the human’s arms. He hopped on top of the canine, and started to rabbit kick the canine.

Koji must have noticed that canine was walking by the door, because he ran across the apartment and jumped at the door. The human wondered what was going on. Then he heard a canine yelp after he heard the thump Koji jumping at the door made.

Furiends, Koji can drive both me and the human crazy. But he does not mean to do it. He is just a very active and athletic cat!
