September 17 Blood Sugar Readings

Hello, kind humans. It is time for me to tell you about my blood sugar readings for the week. I also have some good news about Jacey and Koji. I will tell you about my blood sugar readings first.

For the week, my blood sugar levels averaged 196. This is pretty much the same as what we saw last week, when they averaged 201. My blood sugar readings seem to have stabilized. They clustered around 200 for several weeks. I would like to see them a little lower, but at this level, they are okay. They are not high enough for them to present a risk of me getting complications from diabetes.

The only thing that bothers me and the human about my blood sugar readings is that we have a few times where my blood sugar falls too low. We do not like this, but I nom a lot, and my glucose quickly recovers.

Now on to Jacey and Koji. You know that Jacey commutes to work with the human. When they arrive home, Koji and I go to greet them. And lately, when the human opens the carrier to let Jacey out, Koji will go over and sniff her. He sometimes grooms her a little, and when she hops out, Koji does not chase her.

Koji also goes into the bathroom, and talks to Jacey. Then, he often relaxes on the bath mat, which is right below the shelf the human put in for Jacey. Jacey does not yell at him, and she does not seem to mind when he is right below her.

Things are still not where we want them for my sisfur and brofur. Jacey does not like to come out of the bathroom, because she is afraid that Koji will ambush her. And I will not talk about how Koji annoys me. Sometimes, he gets me so mad that I swat at the human and pee on the floor!

I will tell you about my blood sugar readings next week. Hopefully they will be like this week’s or a little better!

September 3 Blood Sugar Readings

Good morning, furiends. The human told me that many of you are not working today because of Labor Day. I do not understand why on a day named for labor you humans do not engage in it. But I am all for you humans having a day to relax.

I always tell the human he works too hard, but then he tells me that if he did not, then I would not have any noms or insulin. Then I tell the human to work even harder because I do not want to go without my noms or insulin.

Koji is doing his best to keep things calm in this home. He is in the same room as Jacey right now. Both Jacey and Koji are relaxing. Last night, when Jacey came home, Koji went over to her and rubbed noses with her. And he did not chase her when she hopped into her favorite spot.

We are getting low on insulin, but it is not too bad. The human will get some more tomorrow. He ordered more, but because today is a holiday, he cannot get it today. He thinks he can get tonight’s dose and tomorrow mornings out of the vial. But then, it will be all gone. It is a good thing he can get more!

On to my blood sugar readings for the week. For the week, they did not change too much from last week. They averaged 197, which is down slightly from the 205 we saw the week before.  Both of these numbers are perfectly acceptable.

What the human does not like is how sometimes my blood sugar gets so low that we cannot give me any insulin. It happened once this week, which is no fun. It is not too bad, though. I nom a little and then my blood sugar goes back up.

Hopefully, furiends, I will have a better report for you next week. Until then, I hope you enjoy your week!

Jacey Talks to You

Hello, furiends. It is Jacey. I have not talked to you in a while, and Bagheera wants me to tell you how things are going. I know you are all curious about how things are going with me. They are going just fine, furiends. When the human goes to work, I go in with him. And then when he returns for the night, he brings me back.

I do not fight the human when he puts me in the carrier, but when I am in the car, I complain to him about the ride. I do not like the ride. The human thought it might be because I am in the carrier, so he let me out one time. I still meowed very loudly and complained the whole time. So the human decided to keep me in the carrier. It is safer, and if I am going to complain anyway, it does not make sense to let me out.

Koji is getting better about not annoying me. He sometimes bothers me, but when I yell at him to go away, he usually walks away. Sometimes, the human has to tell him to leave me alone. And when Bagheera yells at Koji, too, it can get very loud in the home!

That is what happened early this morning. Koji came into the bathroom and started talking to me. That does not bother me, but then he jumped up onto the shelf that I like to sit on. I got very angry and screamed at Koji. I managed to get away from Koji, but I was still yelling.

The human came in to help, and so did Bagheera. My big brofur was very angry, and he even took a swat at the human! The human has wounds on his legs because of this. But he was able to get Koji off my shelf. Then he put Koji in the hallway, and Bagheera yelled at Koji.

The human treated his wounds and went back to sleep for a little while. And when he woke back up, both Bagheera and Koji had calmed down. Besides, they were hungry, and they wanted to eat their noms. No time to be angry at the human!

Furiends, do not worry about me. I am happy and as soon as the human came in to say hello to me after the talking box started talking, I gave him many head bonks and purred. I do not like the ride to and from work, but the human tells me this is normal.
