Two Senior Bengal Cats Have a Home

Furiends, you know that it can be tough to find a good home for bengal cats like me, Jacey, and Koji. We are active, athletic, and intelligent felines and if humans do not give us the mental and physical stimulation we need, we will find it on our own. Sometimes, this means that their houses get turned upside down!

And many humans do not want two cats. On top of that, many humans do not want older cats. So when the human told me that he was taking care of two 15 year old bengal cats, I thought he would be helping them for a long time.

I worried that these bengal cats, named Gizmo and Iris, would end up here. We would have five felines in our home and that would be too many for the human. Can you imagine five active bengal cats in a one bedroom apartment? It would be chaos!

The human knew this, too. And that is why he worked hard to find a home for these two senior bengals. Now, they have a good home. A kind human has agreed to take in these two bengal cats and give them a good home.

This human is very committed to making sure Gizmo and Iris have a home they will enjoy. They went to buy toys, a cat tree, and other things to help make them happy. And the human is going to go to their home to help them build everything.

Now, the human is very happy they are going home, but he is also going to miss them. You see, Gizmo and Iris loved to climb on him and meow and purr. They would hop on his back, sit there, and make biscuits. Sometimes, the human had to get help if he wanted to move!

But even though the human loves these two felines and they love him, he knows it is better for them to go to a home of their own. And now, Gizmo and Iris will get a home of their own to enjoy the rest of their days together. This news makes me very happy, furiends!

Bagheera (1282 Posts)

Bagheera is a wonderful and loving cat who started off his life on the wrong foot. Literally. He is a polydactyl and since breed standard for bengals does not allow polydactylism, he was given to an animal rescue group. His human had just lost a dear feline friend, but he was fascinated by both the bengal breed and the polydactylism. So he flew up to see Bagheera, and fell in love. He took Bagheera home the same day and Bagheera didn't even let out a peep when he went on a noisy loud small airplane. Several years later, Bagheera had to endure another plane ride, but this time, it was on a big airplane. He moved with his human to San Diego. And he was all set to enjoy a life of soaking up the southern California sun but then something else got in the way. Bagheera was diagnosed with diabetes. This meant that he would have to overcome one more challenge. His diabetes is being treated with insulin and a low carb diet. He has gained back all the weight he lost and is the same active, happy, rambunctious cat that he was before his diagnosis. But he wants to help raise awareness of feline diabetes. He wants humans everywhere to realize that while diabetic cats require a little extra care and they cost more to keep healthy, they are loving and playful companions for the right humans!
